The foot / ankle pain has been a real, well...pain. It's been getting a little better lately. My physical therapist had a few approaches including ultra-sound and very painful massage treatments. The best suggestion he had so far has surprisingly been Epsom salts! I kind of scoffed at it when he mentioned it, but soaking my foot in hot water with a couple of cups of Epsom salts has actually reduced my overall pain. The foot still isn't 100%, but it does seem to be improving somewhat at least. I visited my friend / chiropractor Tarek and he gave me a couple of good stretches / exercises to try, as well as an acupuncture treatment with some electro stimulation mixed in.
I'm definitely limping less, which is my current goal. If everything continues to improve, I think I can actually start to move to my next, and most important goal of all. GETTING BACK ON MY BIKE!!!!!!!

You should probably start planning your return to biking party!
indeed!
Hey James,
I just wanted to check in and see how you are doing. I am now 6 weeks into PT and my knee is having it's good weeks and bad weeks. At first I was afraid of overdoing activity, so I was stiff/sore as a result much of the time. Very recently I have started to up my activity level beyond what I do at PT by either walking my puppy more or biking around my housing development. But, some weeks I feel like I make no progress and some nights it is still quite difficult to get to sleep because of the discomfort. I was just wondering how that relates to the experiences you are having...
I hope all is well! Looks like Ohio State may get a rematch with USC after all :)
Take care,
Zach
I'm definitely in the same boat Zach. It's still very much a back and forth experience. Unfortunately due to some recent schedule issues I haven't been able to do any PT other than what I do at home on my own. I'm not sure how much that is affecting my recovery. I'm hoping to go back to seeing the therapist and least one a week. I've been riding the bike VERY conservatively and that seems to be ok. Not sure if it helps or hurts though. Definitely tired of the whole good day, bad day thing. I hope your recovery gets better (faster). Keep me posted.
Good luck!!
James
